In the dark of the night at the Battery Worth Picnic Area inside Gulf Islands National Seashore’s Fort Pickens area, visitors will have an opportunity to see the night sky in all its glory.
Volunteers from the Escambia Amateur Astronomers’ Association will set up a variety of telescopes for viewing stars, planets and constellations. This is a free event, but there is an $8 entry fee to Fort Pickens. For info., call (850) 934-2600 or go online to www.nps.gov/guis.
