Think racing season is over? Not so fast my friends! Four days of gear jamming, tire shredding, fender banging stock car racing cranks up today at Pensacola's Five Flags Speedway. Stock car racers from all over the country, head to Pensacola in preparation for the 44th Annual Snowball Derby.

The Snowball Derby has been called "America's best short track event" and is considered by many to be the most prestigious race in late model racing. With a storied history featuring racing legends like Donnie Allison, Darryl Waltrip and Ted Musgrave as past winners, the Snowball Derby holds a special place in the history of NASCAR. The winner's list includes two NASCAR Cup Series champions, five Sprint Cup Series and four Camping World Truck Series race winners.

The Snowball Derby remains a integral stepping stone on the circuit for both up and coming and current NASCAR drivers. This year's race will feature familiar NASCAR names like 2011 Daytona 500 winner David Ragan, Kyle Busch Motorsports, Steve Wallace, Bobby Gill, Chase Elliott, Ross Kenseth, David Stremme, Landon Cassill and Pensacola’s own, Nationwide Driver Johanna Long.

Don't miss your chance to get up close and experience racing history in the making at the 44th Annual Snowball Derby!
