On Your Mark, Get Set, Go!

pensacola double brige run 2012

It's time for athletes in the Pensacola Bay Area to lace up their shoes, pin on their racing numbers and participate in one of the most beautiful races along the Gulf Coast – the Pensacola Double Bridge Run.

Starting at approximately 7 a.m. on Feb. 4, die-hard athletes will take on a 15K course from Pensacola to Pensacola Beach. The course will take runners through Pensacola's quaint downtown, with its brick buildings and wrought iron balconies before opening up to the Pensacola Bay. Soon after, participants will cross the 3-Mile Bridge with sparkling water accompanying them on both sides. The course will take the runners through Gulf Breeze, past the iconic Pensacola Beach sign and onto the Bob Sikes Toll Bridge, where all that can be seen are miles of emerald-green water and the hope of the finish line. The race officially ends on the sugar-white sand of Pensacola Beach.

Starting at 8:30 a.m., novice runners can test their skills on the 5K course, which takes participants through Gulf Breeze and over the Bob Sikes Toll Bridge to the finish line on Pensacola Beach.

If you haven't yet signed up for this exciting race with stunning views, you can to sign up for late registration at the Hilton Pensacola Beach Gulf Front Thursday, Feb. 2, from 4-8 p.m. and Friday, Feb. 3, from 12-8 p.m. For those who have already registered, you can stop by the Hilton at these times to pick up your race packet.

Good luck!
